Ohh! Mister Obama, io ti prego! Solo tu puoi aiutarci.

Mister Obama, noi siamo qui in Italia, alla periferia dell’Impero e ti scrivo perche' solo tu puoi aiutarci.
Qui sta succedendo qualche cosa che non va.
Bush, quella strana persona, ha deciso di costruire vicino a Vicenza una immensa base militare. Ce n’era gia' una ma gli sembrava piccolina.
La gente di Vicenza e molti italiani sono scesi in piazza a manifestare. Non abbiamo proprio bisogno di una nuova base militare, un nuovo monumento allo spreco di denaro, alla paura e all’odio.
Non ci servono missili piu' grossi carichi di bombe nucleari.
La tua elezione alla carica di Presidente degli Stati Uniti d’America ha segnato un punto di svolta nella storia di questo pianeta. Ora possiamo immaginare un’epoca di pace, di comprensione, di comunicazione. Un’epoca nella quale non ci si uccida piu' per il petrolio e si prenda l’energia dal sole, dal vento e dagli oceani.
E allora, Presidente, che c’entra con questo sogno una nuova luccicante base militare? Veramente vuoi buttare tutti questi soldi in nuovi bunker sotterranei, rampe di lancio, bombe?
Se qualcuno impazzisse potrebbe gia' adesso lanciare missili a testata nucleare sufficienti a distruggere mille volte questo pianeta. Quale potenza aggiuntiva potrebbe portare questa nuova base militare? Quando l’avrete costruita potrete distruggere il mondo milleuno volte?
Ne vale la pena?
Ne avete proprio bisogno?
Con i soldi che si risparmierebbero rinunciando a questo progetto potreste dare da mangiare e una scuola a un milione di bambini.
Se tu domani mattina facessi questo annuncio al pianeta, la gente direbbe: “Vedi, questo presidente vuole veramente cambiare il mondo.” E questo proteggerebbe l’America molto piu' di cento basi militari.
E poi a cosa servono oggi nuove basi militari?
L’Unione Sovietica non esiste piu' e sta lentamente aprendosi al progresso. La guerra con la Cina per il petrolio non ci sara' perche' tu stai aumentando dieci volte la velocita' della transizione all’economia delle fonti rinnovabili con i grandi investimenti che stai realizzando.
Una base militare nuova non servira' contro i nemici della tua patria che sono terroristi difficili da colpire con una bomba atomica.
Anzi, costruendo questa follia darai forza ai nemici degli Stati Uniti d’America che diranno: “Vedi, gli americani, parlano di pace ma costruiscono la guerra.”
Non conviene a chi ama il sogno di un mondo nuovo, investire denaro e intelligenza nel costruire, ancora, cattedrali del terrore irte di cannoni e filo spinato.
Abbiamo bisogno di segnali d’amore.
Yes we can!
Fermiamo i cani della notte.
Ieri a Vicenza, ancora una volta, questo sogno oscuro di potenza ha causato altri feriti e altro dolore.
Gia' ora questa base militare sta armando le mani di chi conosce solo l’odio.
Tra i manifestanti pacifici si infila gente che vuole la guerra. E invita a nozze chi nelle forze dell’ordine rimpiange l’uso di massa dei manganelli e dei lacrimogeni.
Ti prego Obama, ti prego.
Compi l’impossibile, l’inaspettato.
Un gesto d’amore, un gesto di fiducia, una preghiera per l’anima degli uomini.
Ferma questa follia.
Noi stiamo lottando e gridando, da anni contro questa malvagita' insensata. Ma le nostre proteste vengono calpestate, ignorate.
Viviamo in un pezzo di mondo strano, dove il buon senso, momentaneamente e' svenuto.
Noi abbiamo lottato con tutte le nostre forze, sinceramente, ma stiamo perdendo.
Noi non possiamo fermare questo ingranaggio, siamo uno Stato vassallo, alla periferia dell’Impero.
Si sta eseguendo quel che Bush ha deciso per noi e nessuno qua potra' mai opporsi. Ci sono trattati, accordi, impegni presi dai nostri strani governanti.
Noi non possiamo vincere da soli questa battaglia della civilta' della pace contro quella della guerra.
Tu puoi farlo.
Solo tu puoi farlo.
Se tu agisci noi saremo con te, siamo sempre stati con te.
Insieme possiamo farlo.

P.S.: Credo che l'unica via per impedire la costruzione della nuova base militare sia rivolgerci in massa a Obama e ai singoli cittadini Usa.
Al piu' presto pubblicheremo questa lettera tradotta e ti inviteremo a inviarla a qualche statunitense che conosci.
Potrebbe realmente funzionare.

 

Appello ad Obama - Cacao della Domenica 26.09.09

Caro Iacopo, ho dato una scorta alla lettera in inglese per Mr Obama, pubblicata su Cacao della Domenica del 26.09.09, e mi sono permessa di aggiustarne un pochino la grammatica. Globalmente era molto buona, ma era un po' "letterale". Sta a te cambiarla sul sito.. se vuoi.....

Te la propongo qui di seguito.

Mr Obama, here we are in Italy, in the Empire outskirts, and we are writing to you because you are the only one who can help us.

Something weird it's happening here.

Mr Bush, that strange man, decided to build an enourmous military base in Vicenza. There was another one there already, but he thought it was only tiny!

The people of Vicenza and many other Italian citizens came here to show their disagreement. We do not need at all a new military base, a new monument to money waste, fear and hate. We don't need bigger missiles full of nuclear bombs.

Your election of President of the United States has marked a turning point in the history of this planet. We can now forsee an era of peace, understanding and communication. An era in which not to kill one another for oil but instead take the energy we need from the sun, the wind and the oceans.

So, Mr President, what does this dream have to do with a brand new gleaming military base?

Do you really want to waste all that money in new bunkers, launch pads and bombs?

If someone, all of a sudden, decides to go mad and launch nuclear missiles, they could destroy this planet a thousand times over! What additional power could you get with this new base? When you'll finish building it, would you want to destroy the world a thousand and one times?

Is it really worth the effort? Do you really need this?

With the money you can spare by renouncing this project, you could give food and education to a million children and people all around the world would say: "Look, President Obaam really wants to change the World!" THIS would proctect your Country more than a hundred military basis.

What is the use of military basis nowadays anyway?

The Soviet Union doesn't exist anymore and its heirs are slowly opening to progress. Any wars for oil with China would not be necessary anymore, since you are speeding up the transition to renewable power sources tenfold, along with all the big investments you are making.

A new military base would not be useful against your enemies, the Islamic Terrorists, which are difficult to single out and hit with atom bombs. On the contrary, they would use this against you by objecting: "Look!  The USA speaks about peace, but spreads wars!"

It's not convenient for the ones who love dreaming of a new World to invest money and skills to build, once again, cathedrals of terror filled with cannons and barbed wires. We need a sign of love! Yes we can! Let's stop these wolves of the night!

Yesterday, in Vicenza, this dark dream of power caused more wounded people and more pain.

Right now, this military base is arming the hands of the ones who only know hate.

People who are fuelling wars are infiltrating peaceful demonstrators, incouraging those, including the police force, that are hoping for the return of balckjacks and tear gas bombs.

Please Mr Obama, please! Make the impossible! The unexpected! Give us a  sign of love, a sign of faith and a prayer for mankind souls. Please stop this madness.

We have been fighting and screaming for many years against this senseless evil, but our protests have been crushed or ignored. We live in a strange place of the world, where wit has momentarily vanished.

We are fighting with all our strenght, truly, but we are loosing.

We cannot stop this spiral, we are a vassal state, in the outskirts of the Empire. Whatever Mr Bush decided for us, it's happening here and now, and no one here can oppose because of the traties, the agreements and the obligations took by our weird rulers.

We alone cannot win this battle of the civilization of peace against the one of war.

You can help. Only you can do it. Should you act, we will be on your side, like we always been, and even more!

Together we can do it.

What are new military bases for, however?

Soviet Union does not exist anymore, and its heirs are slowly opening to progress. War with China for oil will not be, since you are speeding by ten the transition to renewable power sources, with the big investments you are making.

A new military base will not be useful against the enemies of your homeland, wich are terrorists, difficult to hit with atom bombs. At the contrary, by building this mad thing, you will enforce the enemies of USA, who will say: "You see, Americans speak about peace, but build war."

It's not fair, for one who loves the dream of a new world, to invest money and skill to build, once again, cathedrals of terror filled with cannons and barbed wire. We need signs of love. Yes we can! Let's stop the night dogs.

Perché mandarlo a dei cittadini americani e non direttamente a Obama? Si puo' fare anche tramite il sito della Casa Bianca.
